Description

The KBA 200 combination pliers are a versatile tool for precision servicing and maintenance wherever protecting machined surfaces and workplace safety matter.

They combine several functions in a single tool – gripping and firmly holding components, bending and cutting wire – so they replace several tools during assembly and servicing work. In plastics processing, aluminium bronze is gentler on hardened surfaces than steel, so during injection mould servicing it reduces the risk of scratching cavities, parting surfaces and other precision components.

The same material reduces the risk of spark formation, is non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant, so the tool also performs well in explosion hazard areas and when working near sensitive instruments and in damp environments.

Are they suitable for injection mould servicing?

Yes. Aluminium bronze is gentler on hardened surfaces than steel, so it reduces the risk of scratching cavities and parting surfaces while gripping and handling mould components.

Are they ATEX-certified?

Hand-held non-sparking tools are not “equipment” within the meaning of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (they have no ignition source of their own), so no ATEX certificate is issued for them. They are intended for use in explosion hazard areas thanks to the properties of the material.

Do they completely rule out sparks?

No. They reduce the risk of ignition but do not eliminate it entirely — the safety procedures for the given zone always apply.
