ISOLATION BLANKETS FOR HEATERS

THERMAL INSULATION OF PLASTICIZING SYSTEMS

EQUIPPING THE MACHINE WITH A SET OF THERMAL INSULATION JACKETS REDUCES ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY APPROX. 40%

Thermal blankets are one of the simplest and most effective methods of significantly reducing energy costs in plastics processing plants. The use of thermal blankets makes it possible to immediately and permanently reduce the energy consumption of machines, while extending the life of the heaters. With energy prices rising several times, such a one-off investment not only pays for itself quickly but, above all, guarantees a long-term, significant reduction in machine operating costs.

OUR OFFER OF PRODUCING ISOLATION BANDS

  • We sew our thermal blankets to size in-house in Poland with the highest quality workmanship. Extensive experience allows us to fit any heater, regardless of its dimensions or the elements forcing cut-outs or holes (such as sensor outputs or junction boxes).
  • We provide full support for measurements, which are best taken during machine downtime (changeover/service) - the system must have cooled sufficiently beforehand and the covers must be removed to gain full access to the heaters. We have made many successful implementations based solely on photographs and measurements from customers, and we always include appropriate allowances and tolerances so that our blankets are fully customised to the layout, guaranteeing a simple, trouble-free installation. We can also take measurements in-house for more insulation machines.
  • In the vast majority of cases, we make a separate, individually designed band for each heater. In this way, we guarantee that they are accurately insulated and that the installation of the blankets is quick and easy. At the same time, we minimise the risk of blanket mismatches due to measurement or manufacturing tolerances, and in the event of flooding/damage to the bands, the customer only has the option of replacing individual pieces.  In addition to thermal insulation of heaters (entire systems as well as individual heaters), we can also produce blankets for other heating elements to limit the "escape" of heat and reduce the risk of burns on contact. We blanket machine bodies, fittings, boilers, and can also make blankets for entire moulds that are preheated outside the machine.
  • We invite you to contact us for a quote on complete thermal insulation for your machines - we treat each project individually to ensure that the ties are made correctly, provide simple and trouble-free installation and the highest thermal insulation efficiency.

ADVANTAGES OF OUR INSULATION BANDS

  • "Made in Poland" - all jackets are sewed by Technic Solution
  • We only use tried and tested heat-resistant materials
  • Jackets are made to measure, based on the actual measurements of each heater
  • Guarantee of the highest quality workmanship and simple, trouble-free assembly
  • Immediate and lasting, significant reduction in machine costs
  • Low cost and extremely fast return on investment
  • Extension of the service life of heaters, which turn on less frequently
  • No risk of burns from contact with heated components
  • Less heat emission to the outside, allowing more comfortable indoor operation especially in summer
  • We can prepare a preliminary quotation on request

HOW TO MAKE PROPER MEASUREMENTS?

  • Taking the measurements that we need to quote and produce bands is very easy. Remember that the machine must be sufficiently cooled down beforehand and any covers restricting full access to the cylinder and heaters should be removed.

  • Each band is individually designed as a 25 mm thick flat blanket with fasteners, so it is primarily the circumference of the heater that is important to us (it is important to specify the dimension of the heater and not the cylinder - alternatively you may provide us the diameter) - which determines the length of the band and the width of the heater.

  • There may be electrical boxes and outlets (e.g. for thermocouples) on the heaters, for which cut-outs or holes must be made to enable the blanket to be fitted without problems. You will need to determine the position and provide us with the dimensions of boxes (length parallel to the axis of the cylinder and width perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder) and holes for the sensors along with their diameters (if present).

  • If the heaters are significantly far apart, it may be worth to provide us extra allowance (per each side of jacket), so that the blankets also cover the part of the cylinder without heaters.
  • In addition, it is worth noting whether there are anything around (eg. outlets, screws, covers) that may prevent installation and whether the 25 mm thick band will fit between the heater and the circuit cover. We can adjust the design of the band accordingly to eliminate problems (e.g. make additional cut-outs).
